When most people think of Ronda Rousey, the last things that come to mind might be fear, insecurity, and suicidal thoughts. She is so strong physically and mentally, how could you possibly associate those words with her?

Rousey On Being Human

Rhonda Rousey’s admission on the Ellen show allows others to identify and know that they are not alone. Who hasn’t battled some form of depression, anxiety, or loss of identity? Many of us might even question, “What am I without…” as it relates to anything in our lives. How many of us have ever based our feelings of self-worth on money, people, careers, looks, etc.? We are more than just our outsides, and Rousey just reminded us of that.

Mental Health

Mental health in today’s society is becoming more of a hot topic and we are loving it.  As humans, it’s normal for our bodies to become sick from time to time, so why couldn’t our brains become sick here and there, too? The more we talk about it and share our experiences and solutions, the more people will seek help and recover, leading to fewer suicides. Rhonda Rousey may not know it, but she just helped open the doors to hope and healing for all those suffering in silence. There is nothing wrong with taking care of the mind as you would your body.
