INPATIENT ALCOHOL TREATMENT PROGRAM

Resources: Inpatient Alcohol Treatment Program

Inpatient Alcohol Treatment Program

Alcoholism is a dependence on alcohol but it is also a disease that usually requires a stay at an Inpatient Alcohol Treatment Program. People who are not alcoholic sometimes do not understand why an alcoholic can’t just “use a little willpower” to stop drinking. However, alcoholism has little to do with willpower. Alcoholics are in the grip of a powerful “craving,” or uncontrollable need, for alcohol that overrides their ability to stop drinking. This need can be as strong as the need for food or water. Although some people are able to recover from alcoholism without help, the majority of alcoholics need assistance. With treatment and support at the effective inpatient alcohol treatment program at The Addiction Recovery Center, many individuals are able to stop drinking and rebuild their lives.

School and job performance may suffer either from hangovers or from actual intoxication on the job or at school; child care or household responsibilities may be neglected; and alcohol-related absences may occur from school or job. Legal difficulties may arise because of alcohol use (e.g., arrests for intoxicated behavior or for drunk driving). The good news is that alcoholism can be treated. At an Inpatient Alcohol Treatment Program, treatment programs use both counseling and medications to help a person stop drinking. Our treatment has helped many people stop drinking and rebuild their lives. Let us help you rebuild yours! Call The Addiction Recovery Center at 1-888-510-2481.

Medical treatments cannot “cure” drinking problems, but they can be combined with other interventions and therapies to produce treatment that is even more effective. Treatment programs need to be targeted at the individual needs of the patient through “problem-to-service matching.” Many who enter treatment have at least one relapse. Follow-up contact, as well as participation in support groups, has both been shown to improve long-term treatment outcomes. Research shows that counselors and therapists, who bond with patients through empathy, rather than confrontation, are powerful motivating influences in alcohol treatment.

Inpatient treatment is provided in a residential program. Patients admit themselves for treatment, which usually lasts for months. Alcohol education and different types of therapy, including group, individual, and sometimes family or couples therapy, are provided. Inpatient treatment is recommended for alcoholics who lack healthy social networks, have failed outpatient programs, or who suffer from serious medical or psychological conditions. These facilities administer medication on an as needed basis. We have the perfect treatment plan for you so call us at 1-888-510-2481.

Abstinence is necessary for successful treatment. Alcoholics cannot resume social drinking without risking a return to dependence. Many feel they are the exception to the rule; however, for every 10 people who say they will stop drinking, only 4 do. Motivation and intervention by family or friends can help the alcoholic achieve abstinence. Recovery from alcohol dependence is possible. Because alcoholism can also affect those around the person with the alcohol problem, family members often need counseling. Al-Anon is a support group for spouses and others who are affected by someone else’s alcoholism. Alateen provides support for teenage children of alcoholics.
