courtney-love-documentary-TWSA new Courtney Love documentary reveals more than just how active the star was in her addiction.  The skilled musician, singer, and actress slipped into a troubled lifestyle until implementing some serious life changes. In the new documentary titled Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck, Love exposed some shocking details about her drug years that not everyone may have known.

Courtney Love Documentary

Courtney Love, who abused what she referred to as, “all of it, just all of it,” now claims “there are no more drugs” involved in anything she does.  The acclaimed celebrity sounds like she has finally made a complete turnaround after rampant drug use for years.  She dabbled with heroin, first having tried the drug after mistaking it for cocaine, according to The Independent.  Courtney Love has undergone a transformation.  Her drug use came to a halt during the 2000′s after having spent time in a drug rehabilitation facility.  “What really saved me was, obviously going to meetings and stuff like that, but I’m a Buddhist,” she explained in detail how religion positively impacted her own personal sobriety.  “I chant and I’m really serious about it.  I chant twice a day.  I sit there in the morning, ‘Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo, Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo, Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo,’ and it changed my life. Absolutely. It turned everything around.”  The star compared her chanting to “doing sit-ups, spiritual sit-ups.”  Searching for spirituality can be a pivotal part of the recovery process that helps the individual during the regular maintenance of their sobriety.

Looking back on heroin addiction while pregnant

After the Courtney Love documentary was shown at Sundance Film Festival, Love revealed a startling secret about her drug addicted past.  The glamorous 50-year-old starlet was acting out in risky behavior by taking heroin while endangering her pregnancy with Frances Bean decades ago.  Love hadn’t made much of a statement regarding the matter at the time, but now official comments are coming out of the woodwork.  “I used it once then stopped,” she finally admits during the documentary about using heroin while pregnant two decades ago.  “I knew she would be fine.”

According to US Magazine, the star was still abusing heroin during her first trimester prior to knowing she was having a baby.  “I used heroin in the first three weeks of my pregnancy — but so f-king what!?” she explained.  “I didn’t even know I was pregnant at the time! I also took a few puffs on a cigarette when my belly was out to here, but most of those nine months, I walked around with nicotine patches all over my body. When you have a baby inside you, you’re not going to do drugs or something stupid.”

Logic can befuddle a person because willpower alone is not enough to combat the disease of addiction.  Courtney Love made it sound like pregnant women should be able to stay sober because they are carrying a child, when the truth is that this may not be enough for an addict since the definition of addiction means the addict will continue the cycle of abuse in spite of negative consequences, even if it means unfortunately posing potential harm to the child.  This explains why there are such controversial debates on drug addicted babies being born and whether laws should be implemented in states so that mothers get charged with assault when the children test positive for drugs at birth.  As far as Courtney Love is concerned, she has undergone a complete change.  She is no longer living the way that she formerly used to.  Her daughter, Frances Bean, was seen with her attending the documentary’s premiere.
