RecoveryFest ’05 ROCKS! as it Broadcasts that Recovery is a Reality for Millions Around The World!

BOCA RATON, FL- Sunday, September 25th’s South Florida RecoveryFest ’05 was a historic date to remember. The Addiction Recovery Center helped create a historic date to remember when it presented the 3rd Annual South Florida RecoveryFest “Concert for Addiction Recovery” at the prestigious Mizner Amphitheater in Boca Raton.

South Florida RecoveryFest ‘05 was held in support of SAMHSA’s 16th Annual National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month and was designed to “Spread the Word” that – “Addiction is a disease, Treatment Works!, and that “Recovery is a Reality in the Lives of Millions.”

And spread the word is exactly what they did. Ivette Torres, Director of SAMHSA’s National Recovery Month initiative, exclaimed, “This is a historic event. The Addiction Recovery Center has produced the largest and best Recovery Month event by far, especially since this entire concert is being broadcast live around the globe on the world wide web.”

RecoveryFest ’05 was simulcast live with realtime streaming video and audio feeds on sober.com and recoveryfest05.com throughout the event.

Christopher Crosby, CEO of The Addiction Recovery Center Addiction Treatment Programs, and a host of the nation’s leading recovery advocates, delivered powerful messages of hope and healing as they educated attendees to the benefit of supporting addiction recovery.

Personal recovery stories and genuine statements of gratitude were met with spontaneous cheers from the packed to capacity crowd of more than 8000. “RECOVERY ROCKS!” and “REAL PEOPLE, REALLY RECOVER!” Were chanted by the entire audience repeatedly throughout the night.

Tunes ranged from jazz to blues, Latino to rock. The Juke Joint Jokers, Amy Steinberg, Bernard Allison and the Radicals, Tone and the Roscoe Martinez Band “rocked” for recovery and “rolled” the crowd into a near frenzy while setting the stage for classic rock legends Eddie Money and KC & The Sunshine Band.

It was an empowering experience for those in and out of recovery as well. For many it was the first time that they could actually feel proud to be a part of a larger community that has gifts to bring to society as a whole. All in all, Recovery ROCKED at RecoveryFest ‘05.
