The Facts On The New Deadly Opioid Combo, ‘Gray Death’

A new opioid combination called ‘gray death’ has hit the streets and authorities are warning the public about the likelihood of overdose death, according to Fox News Health. Here is what you need to know about this deadly drug and what you can do to be safe. What Is Gray Death?Officials believe that Gray death is a combination of heroin, fentanyl, carfentanil (elephant tranquiler), and U-47700 (a synthetic opioid also known as “Pink” or “U4”). U-47700 on its own has been linked to 46 deaths between 2015-2016 according to NBC News. Fentanyl is about 100 times more powerful than morphine and carfentanil is about 10,000 times more powerful than morphine. With this kind of potency, these drugs by themselves can be dangerous, but combined, they are proving deadly. So far Gray Death has been linked to at least 50 overdoses and has been spotted in Chicago, Cincinnati, San Diego, Indiana, and Kentucky. At $10 a pop, The U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency is giving a strong warning because they believe it will likely be spreading to other states. To The Addict If you are an addict who is actively using, gray death may actually seem desirable. This is not because you want to die, but rather because the disease of addiction convinces you that the higher the potency of the drug, the better of a high it will produce – if you don’t overdose first. At this point, many of you are already aware of the heroin epidemic this entire nation is facing and how it is has personally affected you. We understand the battle you are up against and know that you are not using because of choice, but because you suffer from the disease of addiction. We want to make sure that you are aware that there is a solution and abstinence can and does work. We have to make this clear because there is a lot of information out there that says getting clean from heroin or any opioid addiction is impossible without the use of long-term drugs like suboxone.
