Medical Doctors
Dr. Mario Stefan
Dr. Mario Stefan has been working as a medical doctor at The Watershed Addiction Treatment Program for eight years. He cares for the non-psychiatric medical needs of Watershed patients. Dr. Stefan received his early medical training overseas, and after graduation he practiced medicine in the Amazon jungle and learned invaluable lessons in patient care. When he came back to the U.S., he trained at the University of Florida in Jacksonville and obtained his diploma as a family doctor specializing in internal medicine. Dr. Stefan gets real satisfaction out of working at The Watershed, and he believes the treatment facility gave him a chance to change his perspective on what an addict is. Dr. Stefan sees addicts as the whole human beings that they really are, capable of change and healing.
