THE WATERSHED INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT PROGRAM
Treatment Programs: Intensive Outpatient Program
Returning to Life
Patients who have progressed in their recovery efforts in the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), will transition into the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). While continuing to live at The Addiction Recovery Center Apartments, they have the ability to work or go to school during the day, and attend therapy groups in the evenings.
The Addiction Recovery Center’s IOP program is perfect for people who are ready to return to work, school, or other responsibilities and do not require a higher level of care.
Residents spend up to 10 hours each week (at least 3 days a week) in a structured, supportive group setting led by licensed professionals.
The Intensive Outpatient Program uses 12-Step and proven clinical treatment methods to help you make positive changes in your life. Patients participate in the following activities:
- Group counseling
- Individual counseling
- Groups for men and women
- Family group
- Spirituality awareness
- Relapse prevention
- 12-Step meetings (off-site)
- Education classes
Located in a comfortable and relaxed setting, IOP provides intensive treatment among a sympathetic and supportive community of peers. Group therapies are used to promote coping skills, stress management, goal achievement and treatment compliance.
Residents can still receive therapy, medical attention, and psychiatric services on an as-needed basis.
Our goal is to empower each person to work towards becoming their “best” self, thereby learning new ways to cope with stress, anxiety and depression.
All groups and sessions are geared toward treating the underlying causes of addiction and facilitating lasting recovery.

From an Alumni
Last year my daughter became ill and was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. They wouldnt let me take her home from the hospital until I was able to give her the insulin shots she needed to survive. With sweat rolling down my back, I was able to load that syringe and administer the insulin to my daughter while convincing her it was no big deal and I would make everything as easy as possible for her. It was the hardest thing I had done since I made the phone call to the Watershed and asked for help!
Since then my daughter and I have grown closer than ever. We have started a hiking club for teenagers, we go to the library together, Im volunteering at her school, and I helped chaperone her class trip to Space Camp. I could never have done any of these things while on drugs. Watershed helped me get my life back and for that I am grateful every day.
